The 11th annual Halas Farm Market Paint-A-Pumpkin fundraiser was held on Sunday, October 18 in Danbury CT. Every year this event grows in size, popularity and dollars raised for T1D research. This year the event raised over $30,000 to support JDRF and its mission to turn type one into type none.

Attendees enjoyed this wonderful event which includes a hayride, petting zoo, an amazing band, great food, wonderful raffle items and fun for the whole family. On this chilly day that saw a few snow squalls come through, fearless volunteers from area high schools took turns sitting on the platform in the dunking booth awaiting their fate. Meanwhile, children painted pumpkins and jumped in the bounce houses while others took their chances on some amazing raffle prizes. Families enjoyed the delicious treats at the bake sale and mouth-watering ribs offered at the food stand.

This year the event marks a milestone: the total raised in 11 years is over $220,000! JDRF wishes to extend their overwhelming appreciation and special thanks to the Halas family for their commitment and support. We also want to thank all the volunteers who contribute their time and energy as well as the sponsors who donate their goods and services to make this a continuing success.
