|WHO:||Nick Jonas of the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum group The Jonas Brothers, will testify for JDRF before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to request federal funding for diabetes research, and remind Congress about the urgent need for a cure for a disease he lives with every day- type 1 diabetes. Jonas, 16, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 13 years old.
He will join JDRF International Chairman and actress Mary Tyler Moore, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, Dr. Griffin Rodgers, Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), and a group of children from around the U.S. with type 1 diabetes.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the leader in setting the agenda for diabetes research worldwide, will host Children’s Congress 2009 from June 22-24 in Washington D.C. Children’s Congress 2009 will bring 150 children with type 1 diabetes to Capitol Hill to seek additional funds from Congress for diabetes research.
