My T1D Life Blog-The Personalization Station!

Personalization is the key to setting your walk page apart from the rest. This allows you and your teammates the ability to share your story, pictures and videos about who you are walking for and why raising money to cure Type 1 Diabetes is so important to you! Giving your donors the ability to see that there is a personal impact on you and that it is so much more than just a fundraiser, it is an opportunity to drastically improve someoneā€™s life! Not only are they donating towards a cure but they are donating for the improvement in the management and burden that T1D has over its victims.

Josephs Sugar Rush

I took the opportunity to put our last yearā€™s team picture up on our team page this year and I also have a few different ones displayed on my personal page as well as Josephā€™s page. I also took advantage of the personalized video that JDRF has offered this year, which I think brings a huge impact to the cause as soon as someone logs into your page. If this is your first year walking then, I encourage you to snap a few photos of you or your child with their meter, pump or anything that shows the ā€œrealā€ side of T1D.

If you are sending emails, donā€™t forget to attach a photo and story to send along. I love using our JDRF fundraising chart. I will have Joseph stand next to it and take a picture, so that our supporters know how the fundraising is going and how far we still have left to go. Plus, it is a great keepsake to show your children as they get older about how they were involved in raising the money. Joseph gets so excited to fill up the chart to the next level and get his picture snapped and posted for everyone to see!

Lastly, donā€™t forget to utilize your social media and email contacts. This is the easiest way to get your message and our cause out there. You never know who will share the information and who it will reach from there. Almost like throwing a rock into the center of a pond and watching the rippling effect happen. Remember every dollar raised puts us one step closer to a life with Type NONE!

Until next time,

Alicia
