More than 3,000 walkers participated in the Lincoln Walk to Cure Diabetes held on Sunday, September 28 at Holmes Lake Park. We would like to thank the dedicated families, companies, schools, organizations and sneaker sales partners who generously supported and fundraised in support of T1D research. Because of your efforts, the Walk is projected to raise more than $285,000!
The festivities began at 1:00 p.m. and included face painting, colored hair spray, photo booth, balloon art, bounce houses and massages. Gina Sherwood-Klein from B107.3 emceed the event and the DJ was Bryan Tepe from Sheridan Lutheran Church. Starstruck Dance Academy dazzled the walkers with a dance routine from the movie Rio 2. Educational booths were set up throughout the Walk site providing information on JDRF Outreach, Adovcacy and Research.
