JDRF Houston invites you to apply to become an Ambassador at the 2016 Promise Ball on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at The Hilton Americas Houston.  Ambassadors play an important part of the evening’s festivities helping greet guests and with special parts of the program at this event that raises more than $1.4M for JDRF-funded research.  The Ambassador’s presence is an opportunity to help raise awareness about T1D and thank the generous gala patrons who are helping JDRF find a cure through their support of the Promise Ball.

There are a limited number of spots available each year for Promise Ball Ambassadors, so participants are selected through an application process via committee.  Applications and photos are due no later than February 12, 2016.  All applicants will be notified February 15, 2015.

Ambassador Guidelines:

-Must be a child between the ages of 6-17 living with type 1 diabetes

-Ambassador should have an outgoing personality and sunny disposition and be willing to greet, interact with and thank gala patrons

-Must be able to participate in the Ambassador photo shoot the afternoon of February 28, 2016 (appointments will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals)

-Participation in Promise Ball Ambassador art project for the silent auction – this will be completed on the day of the Ambassador photo shoot

-At least one parent must plan on attending the gala either through purchasing tickets or volunteering at the event

-Ambassadors are also asked to donate a gift certificate to their favorite store or restaurant at a suggested minimum value of $75 – these gift cards will be included in our silent auction in our “Ambassador’s Favorite Things” section

-Application and photo must be submitted no later than February 12, 2016 to Houstonoutreach@jdrf.org
