Say “Thank You” to Members of Congress for their SDP Support

in ,

Earlier this year—and with your support—JDRF was delighted to help secure a one-year renewal of the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) that was included in the ‘American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012’ legislation, which passed Congress over the New Year’s Eve holiday.

Please take a moment today to thank legislators who supported T1D research over the last year and let them know that you appreciate the renewal of the SDP.

We’ll continue to work hard in this new Congress to let Members hear from our JDRF families, and from you as Advocates—but we are pleased that Congress has been, and will continue to be, addressing the issue of funding critical type 1 diabetes (T1D) research with strong bipartisan support for the SDP.

You might also remember that last spring, an overwhelming group of 72 Senators and 272 Representatives signed onto letters recognizing the importance of the SDP. These letters were circulated by Senate and House Diabetes Caucus Co-Chairs, Senators Shaheen and Collins, and Representatives Whitfield and DeGette.

The Congressional support for the SDP gives great hope to us at JDRF Advocacy, and should also give hope to the millions of Americans who are personally impacted by T1D. Please Take Action today, and let’s tell them how grateful we all are for their support.

Thank you for all that you do for JDRF.
