Bright and early on Monday, April 15, 2013, a group of TeamJDRF runners in neon-yellow tops braced themselves at the starting line for the 117th Boston Marathon. These 19 uber-motivated supporters not only spent several months training for the 26.2-mile race, they also dedicated an impressive amount of energy to fundraising. To date, the group has raised more than $150,000 for JDRF.
“I cannot say enough about this amazing group of runners,” says Amy Montalto, executive director of the JDRF New England Chapter, which helps organize TeamJDRF for the Boston Marathon each year. “They came through an unimaginable day with great love for JDRF and for each other.”
