Many Happy Returns

All 161 JDRF Children’s Congress delegates wowed us today—in their meetings with their Member of Congress and in the Senate Diabetes Hearing. But amid all the serious business of advocacy, we’d like to take a moment to give a shout-out to three particular delegates, who all celebrated birthdays during Children’s Congress.

Instead of being at home blowing out birthday candles with friends and family, these three young ladies chose to spend their special day advocating a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Happy birthday and our very best wishes to:

We at JDRF hope it was a T1D birthday you’ll never forget. And we pledge to keep working our hardest toward a cure, so that someday, you can celebrate a TypeNone birthday!

Children’s Congress Delegate Blog

We invited five delegates to write a very special series—the very first Children’s Congress Delegate Blog! In the weeks leading up to their trip to Washington, D.C., these delegates gave us their thoughts on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happy glucose control. But most importantly, they let us know just what it means to them to be delegates of Children’s Congress 2013. Read on.
