Climb the Highest Mountain

A group of 14 JDRF supporters—including nine with type 1 diabetes (T1D)—embarked on the journey of a lifetime this summer when they climbed to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The highest mountain in Africa—and also the highest freestanding mountain in the world—Mt. Kilimanjaro rises 19,341 feet above sea level in the United Republic of Tanzania, in East Africa. The trek to the top, which the group began on June 14 and completed on June 21, also raised more than $26,000 for JDRF.
