JDRF UK is launching a new event for advanced cyclists who are looking for an adventure! The Alpe D’Huez challenge gives supporters the chance to ride one of the world’s most scenic mountains just five days before the 2011 Tour de France riders will complete the same climb. This is set to be a truly international event for JDRF, as the UK has been working with our colleagues in Australia, Canada, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands to gather a strong international team. In July, up to 50 cyclists from around the world will fly in to Geneva and in a test of physical endurance, they will pedal hard across the rough terrain of the Alpe D’Huez in support of JDRF! Any blood, sweat, and tears will all be worth it, as funds will go toward vital research on type 1 diabetes.
