The Metro St. Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter’s Dream Gala was held on May 8 at the Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield. The event, themed “Passport to a Cure,” raised an impressive $900,000 – the chapter’s greatest Gala total to date. Shown at the event are (l to r) Ward Klein, CEO of Energizer Holdings, Inc.; Arnold Donald, former President and CEO of JDRF International; Dr. William Danforth II, Chancellor Emeritus of Washington University; and David Hatfield, President and CEO of Energizer Personal Care. Dr. Danforth was presented with the rare and prestigious Research Champion Award for the work he and his family have done to secure hundreds of millions of dollars for research in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Mr. Klein and Mr. Hatfield were also honored at the Gala as Diabetes Champions for raising over $1.3 million during JDRF’s 2009 Walk season.
